Company Overview
YWS' mission is “Providing lifelong sanctuary to non-releasable Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem (GYE) wildlife while sharing a message of education and conservation.” When a wild animal is injured or treated improperly by people and cannot be released, YWS steps up to provide animals with a safe place to live out their lives in comfort and dignity, in a climate and landscape natural to them. In the second part of our mission, our wildlife become our partners in teaching stewardship of the environment. Our facility allows visitors of all ages and from all backgrounds to see wild animals up close which builds a personal connection and opens the door to learning about protecting nature and its creatures. They can see animals in their natural ecosystem, which enhances understanding of habitat needs and appreciation of GYE— and leave here with a greater understanding of the importance of healthy ecosystems and how to care for them.
