- Spotted owl survey technician-Oregon State University
Description
Biological Science Research Technician 1's are required to conduct surveys for northern spotted owls to obtain occupancy and reproductive data as part of a short-term monitoring program. Additional work past the primary sampling period (March-mid July) may include post-field season data management (July 16-September 31).

Requirements
Two years of college-level courses in wildlife science or related field; OR an equivalent combination of training and experience. Previous field experience in remote or isolated environments with challenging terrain. Demonstrated orienteering skills including the use of maps, compass, and handheld GPS units. Commitment to working professionally and inclusively with people from all backgrounds. Ability to operate a 4-wheel drive vehicle. Extensive daily travel times in project vehicles from meeting places, in Medford or Klamath Falls, to work sites is required (see below).
