- Assistant/Associate Professor of Wildlife Extension
Description
This position is expected to conduct at statewide extension program of excellence in wildlife management, with some emphasis on upland game birds. An applied research program will be developed to complement the extension program. Responsibilities include program planning, program development and implementation and evaluation of projects. This position is expected to provide training, collaboration and support to county extension agents and programs.
This position will report to the Director of the Arkansas Forest Resources Center (Dean, College of Forestry, Agriculture and Natural Resources at University of Louisiana at Monticello) and will be expected to partner with research and teaching faculty at the College. Demonstration projects to support educational programs will be expected on university, private and public properties.
Requirements
Qualifications:
A Ph.D. in a natural resources-related field, with at least one degree in wildlife or wildlife management.
Preferred Qualifications:
The successful candidate must have the ability to communicate to a wide audience in social media, publications, and presentations and the capability to create an extension program that addresses issues in wildlife management. Ability and desire to collaborate with faculty from the Cooperative Extension Service, Agriculture Experient Station and College of Forestry, Agriculture and Natural Resources at the University of Arkansas at Monticello is essential. Candidates should desire developing educational programs for landowners, hunters, residential homeowners, natural resources professionals, county Extension agents, and 4-H youth. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States and have a valid driver’s license.
